When I began to
follow wherever He leads
I was led to construction ministry in
1987 and since that time have been blessed with the opportunity
to be involved with the construction of and repairs or additions
to dozens of church buildings and facilities.
Since 1993 I have
been involved with over 50 World Changers projects, had the
opportunity to help meet construction needs in Jamaica, Honduras,
Nicaragua and helped with repairs to flood damaged homes in McDowell Co.
West Virginia. Through The James Ministry of Summit Baptist
Church I have been able to share the love of Christ in a
personal way with the elderly, widowed and single parents in my
surrounding community. In doing
so have had my life changed as well as having had the chance to
minister to hundreds of people. God has blessed me with the
opportunity to work with thousands of teenagers and adults. He
has given me the chance to share Him with young and old,
Christian and non-Christian; He has allowed me to be His servant
by allowing me to follow wherever He leads.
Each trip has been a new
experience, a new challenge, another step following The Master.
Each step takes me a little closer to who and what He wants me
to be. The spiritual fellowship can not be described nor the
blessings counted. Each year I say it can’t get any better,
yet each year, brings me closer to Christ and the closer I get
the better it gets.
I have a hard time finding the words to
describe the feeling one gets when an eighty year old widow
tells you how long she has been praying for a way to have her
leaky roof repaired. Nor how to describe how you feel when you
are told how much of a blessing you have been. There in no way
to tell someone how you shared the gospel with young children in
a home where Jesus was never taught, nor the joy you feel when a
lost sheep is brought to The Shepherd. I’ve seen people who
were never able to get from their homes without help, and the
new handicap ramp allows them a new freedom.
When you follow Jesus and people see
Christians doing something other than going to church it changes
there way of thinking about them. Many people may never see
Jesus unless more people are willing to follow Christ’s
example and go wherever He leads and minister to those less
fortunate than we are.
E-mail about how you began your walk
with God.

You
did not do anything to achieve your salvation, but you must do
something to exhibit it. You must "work out your own
salvation" which God has worked in you already (
Philippians 2:12 ). Are your speech, your thinking, and your
emotions evidence that you are working it "out"? If
you are still the same miserable, grouchy person, set on having
your own way, then it is a lie to say that God has saved and
sanctified you.
