Truth vs.
Truth
There are two kinds of truth: reality and perception
perception
- perceiving: the process of using the senses to acquire
information about the surrounding environment or situation
- impression: an attitude or understanding based on what
is observed or thought
reality
- real
existence: actual being or existence, as opposed to an
imaginary, idealized, or false nature
- all
that actually exists or happens: everything that actually
does or could exist or happen in real life
More than at any time in history are Christians living a life filled with perceived truths. We have become a society, which believe most of what we hear and all that we see, most will never realizing that many of those who are standing in our pulpits are deceiving them. Our fast is better mentality has us where we want everything “now” never checking the viability of what we secure, and even worse never questioning or researching to see if the leaders we listen to are teaching Biblical truth or
sheer speculation.
Many times I have heard sermons preached, with never a mention of Christ or a hint of the gospel story. The message is sweet to our ears, sugar coated to convince us that the things God commanded us to do are not so important. We justify sin with phrases like, “it's hereditary”, “their just sowing wild oats”, “it's an illness”, “we don't want to hurt their self esteem”. We need to recognize that sin is sin, and sin leads to death eternally. Our perceived truths hold many in bondage in life and many will die to be held in the darkness of Hell until they are cast into the lake of fire.
Truth
exist and is defined in the Bible, Jesus Christ lived a sinless
life; God is all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the
universe and He stills rules it today; salvation is a gift from
God and cannot be earned; Satan is real; as a Christian you have
the responsibility to share the gospel of Christ with others;
and the Bible is accurate in all of its teachings.
There
is simplicity in truth, reason and intellect more often leads to
speculation.
A poem I wrote
24 years ago after meeting a well-known TV evangelist who has
since fallen from grace.
Oh beware of those counterfeit Bible toten
preachers
Cause they’ll tell you things that Jesus never
said
And beware of those counterfeit Sunday morning
Christians
Cause they’ll lead you down the path of the
dead
You gotta watch where you walk watch what you say
You gotta watch what you do every day
You got to walk in the Word stand in the light
And let the spirit take control of your life
Oh beware of those counterfeit gold and silver
churches
Where the name of God is seldom heard
And beware of those counterfeit self-made
religions
Or they will rob you of the warmth of the word
You gotta watch where you walk watch what you say
You gotta watch what you do every day
You got to walk in the Word stand in the light
And let the spirit take control of your life

Let the Holy Spirit take control of your
life and you will know truth when you hear it.
